Conclusion/Reflection

Extension

Upon the completion of your project, take a moment to reflect on the process you used and the results of your experiment.   The process of scientific inquiry is not just about getting a project done.  It is a way in which we make life decisions through self-teaching and peer learning.  Please answer the following questions regarding your experience with the inquiry process.

  • What topic did you choose?

  • Why did you choose that topic?

  • What did you already know about this topic?

  • What new information did you learn during your rseach and experimentation?

  • Did you enjoy learning about your topic?

  • What was your favorite part of your project?

  • What was your least favorite part?

  • Do you have any suggestions for improving the process?

When you complete your quarterly Genius Hour project, you may find yourself wanting to know  more about your topic.  This can lead to new ideas for future Genius Hour projects.   If the new idea is different enough from a previous object, you may have the opportunity to build onto your previous project.  Must be ok'd by the teacher prior to beginning new project.

  • How might you be able to extend this activity for your next Genius Hour project?

  • How is it different from your previous projects?
